A FREE COMMUNITY PROJECT

MAKE A MUG - AT HOME - WITH LOCALLY DUG CLAY!

Visitor Center Artist Camp will be providing Make-A-Mug Kits!

1) Pick Up Your Mug Kit: Saturday, August 1st, 10am - 2pm at the Ewen-Trout Creek School

2) Make a mug from Ewen’s local clay, harvested and prepared by our artists! The kit will come with a clay slab, paper patterns for cutting out the shapes, instructions, and all the tools needed!

3) Return your freshly-made mug to the ETC School BY FRIDAY, AUG 7th

4) Leave your mug wrapped in plastic, on the “STAY In Clay” table, along with your contact info and glaze color choice marked on a Drop Off Form.

5) We will fire your new mug in our kiln, with your choice of glaze color! Fired mugs will be available for pick-up at the ETC School Office, by August 14th. We’ll call you when your fired mug is ready for you to pick up!

This is our 7th Annual Arts Event in Ewen, and we are thrilled to announce that “STAY In Clay!” is supported by a Mini-grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, through the Copper Country Community Arts Council, and matched by donors: ETC School, Ewen Building Supply, The Colemans, The Allens, Cori Champagne, and Jason Friedes.

Visitor Center Artist Camp is an artist residency focused on cooperative self-sufficiency and sustainable art practices influenced by the surrounding environment. VCAC is run by Art Shape Mammoth, a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to cultivate radical societal transformation by supporting and performing activities that promote social justice, education, and environmental sustainability.  www.artshapemammoth.org
